GPT-6 rolls out to all of ChatGPT with "Intelligent UI" and a Decisions API
OpenAI has extended GPT-6 across ChatGPT: GPT-6 Sol for paid plans from October 7, GPT-6 Luna for Free and Go users from October 8.
Intelligent UI
The visible novelty is Intelligent UI: instead of a plain block of text, ChatGPT builds its answer from interactive elements (editable charts, buttons, forms, small tools like a custom calculator) and picks the format per question. It's an interface evolution more than a model one, and it pushes ChatGPT toward being an application rather than a plain chatbot.
The Decisions API
For developers, the Decisions API has been in beta since October 6, on GPT-6 Luna. It doesn't generate free text: from a context (text or image), it returns probabilities, choices or scores among predefined answers.
For an agent, it's useful to:
- classify content (spam, priority, topic);
- route a request to the right tool or agent;
- decide the next action from a closed set of options.
The appeal is reliability: a constrained, typed output is easier to plug into a workflow (n8n or otherwise) than a sentence to interpret. At Luna's price ($0.10 / $0.50 per million tokens), it's also very cheap.
API pricing
GPT-6 Sol costs $2 input and $10 output per million tokens, Luna $0.10 and $0.50.
Worth keeping in mind
- The Decisions API is in beta: behavior and limits may change.
- Constrained outputs reduce format errors, not judgment errors: an automatic decision on an irreversible action still deserves human approval.
- OpenAI's most ambitious products (dots, see our article) remain unavailable in Europe for now. Here, GPT-6's availability in ChatGPT is described as global.
